Great Vegan Adventure: Day 14, 15, 16

I haven't been too keen on writing the blog this week.  I'm not sure why but now that I know that our friends, the Vegans, are reading this and that they have absolved me of my flan, well, now I know I need to get back to it.

OK, I have a confession to make...

I...miss...meat.  I miss chicken specifically.  Weird.  I even feel bad writing this!  But I tend to get bored with the same old thing over and over...like vegetables.

C'mon! This is really quite a thing for me!  I was a pretty picky kid which means I had no interest in vegetables and thought that Captain Crunch was health food...and happily so, but much to the consternation of my parents.

And I know that there are tons of things that we can eat, and lots of recipes to follow, but as I've said before I've never been a believer in cutting out entire groups of food.

Pep, of course, doesn't miss it.  He's amazing.  Once he gets an idea in his head about giving something up for Lent he sticks to it no matter what.  (A secret...I think he's really looking forward to ham on Easter.  Ssshhhhhh)

OK, the last few days have been kind of depressing....Pep went back to work.  If you've been reading this you know that he's had the eye malady and I've made him stay away from work.   And maybe that's why I'm bored...I don't have a partner to do this with during the days!

On a positive note:  I've lost 4 lbs total!  I lost an lb from yesterday even.  So, this is a good thing!  And maybe that's good because I'm too bored with this to eat and I'd feel too guilty to back down from my Lenten promise (thankyouverymuch Catholic guilt!) which is really more of a promise to my husband. (thankyouverymuch Husband guilt)

Truth be told...I'm probably going to take advantage of the Sundays in Lent which are exempt (which is why the Vegans forgave me my transgression.  They're Catholic...they understand).  Not that I'll necessarily have meat but I may have eggs!  And cheese!

We'll see...sigh...

Cheers!
